Thank you Spitfire, Homay and most of all Trevor for this fantastic opportunity to have some of the sonic palette that I have loved so much over the years.
I have a major problem with Solar, the engine driving Jupiter and Mercury: You can't (effectively) use a physical midi controller knob to control the envelope's Volume, Pitch or Filter: They've coded the sliders to have their centers at -1 instead of 0, with +100 above the "center" and -99 below, making the "center" (which should be 0) effectively +0.5 which rounds up as +1. As a result, the center of your physical knob doesn't zero the effect, it leaves the effect on +1. Given that the whole point of Solar is to be able to modulate sounds on the go, being able to use a physical controller would be a heck of a lot nicer than having to reach for the mouse to double click to cancel any filter entirely. So nice for demos, not good for use.
Brilliant video Homay as always you explain everything so well. I had doubts about this library, thinking it could be a little to "pop" orientated for me, well I don't have doubts now ,thanks Homay, hope to see many more of your wonderful videos
This is clearly a great collection of synthwave/vapourwave sounds, but I have to say I'm really not hearing anything in these wobbly, grainy lo-fi demos that reminds me of Trevor Horn's pristine highly polished and inventive production style.
I guess at 80 quid this is right at the low end of Spitfire's prices, but the demo was distinctly underwhelming - a few pads and a handful of (rather feeble) drum samples probably doesn't show its range to best advantage. I can't help thinking that a few free vst synths would give you the same capabilities with a bit of tweaking. Won't be springing for this one. Sorry Trev, I don't feel this does you justice.
I’m reading his autobiography at the moment and one thing that comes across strongly is his push to innovate- to do something new that has never been done. I’d love to know his genuine opinion on people reusing his old stuff (the antithesis of innovation)!
Yes. I'm still new to the instrument but there's AUX effects on each sound, and additional AUX effects for the blended A/B sound with control over the usual parameters. Some sounds are still reverberant without any reverb added, I'd say this is just the nature of those samples (unless I've missed a sneaky reverb hiding somewhere). Overall they seem very customisable.
This is great if you just getting started or don't have a lot of non orchestral sounds .While I have loads of spitfire libraries that I love I see very little value in this, as I also have gobs of VSTs/ sound packs / effects etc providing this kind of stuff
Im curious at learning what tools he used and creating some new sounds out of that. It is certainly cool to get sounds similar to his own though, but how much customization can you do with this if you want to venture into the deep end?
It's probably multiple instances. My guess is that she probably has her demo project open, as you can see on her monitor. And as such, she would be using multiple instances with several patches loaded, adding up to those 5.5GB.
@@tivermusic That makes sense. I have Polaris and it takes around 650mb per instance. But maybe Spitfire can confirm and average MB per instance for this.
When will someone create an instrument that truly takes sound creation forward i want to hear big ben morphing into a elephant scream something truly mind blowing i feel like were stuck in a rut its like the beegees being number 1 for 40 years . Just saying. Ps this sounds nothing like the Trevor Horn i remember.
The instruments are only part of the process of sound design being pushed forward. There is huge innovation taking place in genres like drum and bass/electronica and it's down to the creativity and ingenuity of the artists. You can't really rely on companies like Spitfire to push the envelope
Is it too much to ask Spitfire to bring their SSO/SCS legato scripting up to the level of competition? It's, perhaps, the biggest gripe with the libraries Because there is a lot of competition out there. Unless you're writing basic chord progressions, it kind of falls apart during melodic lines. You can blend in other libraries, but it changes the overall sound character of SSO/SCS. Also, the shorts feel much quieter than legatos, for some reason, and you have to hammer down the keys to make it kind on par, volume-wise.
This kind of libraries have already be made by many other companies like Arturia, Native Instruments, UVI, etc. Nothing new. And who needs to sound like Trevor Horn? if you want your music to sound new, better design your own patches.
Not what I really want to hear from Spitfire. There are countless other softsynths out there that emulate these sounds better, and more cheaply. They need to release another cinematic percussion library
This is a useless library. None of the sounds are that special and can easily be recreated with almost any soft synth. Drum machines with a little reverb? These samples have been out there for decades. I hear nothing typically Trevor Horn in this collection.
I’ve got a far few of Spitfire’s products, but this type of hyped branding is honestly tainting their reputation for me. Trevor Horn’s productions cannot be achieved or mimicked with a product.
Yeah it's ok, but when does homage to a producers style become simply sampling an existing product of its time? If there isn't some kind of deep programmable side to it, it's hard to see the value

I love the way you demo. You match your playing style to help compliment the library which helps tremendously. Awesome stuff, thanks!
This is fantastic!! 👏 👏 exciting stuff. Thank you for doing this video. I appreciate all the effort that went into making it
Trevor Horn is probably a soundscape genius.

what! Trevor Horn!!! the master of the 80s
This is clearly a great collection of synthwave/vapourwave sounds, but I have to say I'm really not hearing anything in these wobbly, grainy lo-fi demos that reminds me of Trevor Horn's pristine highly polished and inventive production style.
Agreed. I kinda wonder what the reception would be like without Trevor Horn's name on the product.

The same. PR, like in HZ products. All about $, not quality, or fairplay.
Omnisphere, or Nexus, is MUCH better. Or sampled synth collections...
Only recently I have found how important it is to have a good synth library for your composing. Nice one.
woah i love the GUI for this one, great work!
I love the epic pad with Epic pad
I’ll get it just for that piano
Fabulous. Thank you.
This exemplifies the term 'money for old rope'. There's nothing here you couldn't churn out with x or y Vsti and some lofi fx dsp.
13:28 - Not even Homay is enjoying this!
It’s a drag for all of us. I liked some of the sounds but don’t use samples to create them
Pre-ordered it the moment it was announced, because I knew it would be good…. but I had no idea it was THAT good !!! 😘
Really?? Theres hundreds of VST synths and libraries with same sounds
Oy vey
Another great video. This product seems great.
Thanks. I enjoyed your playing skills.
Hola... pregunta: cuál es la diferencia entre tener los sonidos muestreados digitalmente, a tener los sonidos en analógico? Saludos 😊
"...and then really epic pad with Epic Pad" 😄
She's bored! 😂
Can you control/remove the reverb of the sounds?
Yes. I'm still new to the instrument but there's AUX effects on each sound, and additional AUX effects for the blended A/B sound with control over the usual parameters. Homay Schmitz = Spitfire's secret weapon. She could sell a tin can and a rubber ball as a $99 musical instrument
Only if you are led by your knob!
@@karl.weaver...I mean her demos are the best - she's a genius composer
On point!
Music critics of the future will rave about that 2020s tin-can-rubber-ball vintage sound!

5:04 really liked this. Reminds me of a colourful rendition of Bloodstain by UNKLE
It's all so dreamy.... Love it!
Trailer very NICE!!!
damm all of them sounds really good!
Thanks Homay. I downloaded @ 17:05 today! By the way, what mouse mat is that you have? 🐭

Great ❤

Love that desk! Is it custom?
Bought it immediately. Love it.
Curious, what's the name midi CC controller you're using?
The site shows ‘pre-order’. When is it available?
Does one instance really take up 5.5gb? Will multiple instances take 5.5gb each?
I know right. Yikes!
It's probably multiple instances. My guess is that she probably has her demo project open, as you can see on her monitor. And as such, she would be using multiple instances with several patches loaded, adding up to those 5.5GB.

I think you will start finding new music AI software will take Big Ben to an Acid Rave party with the elephant yodelling with the machine elves.

Cool library. But I'm still trying to get my head around that pop-screen on an RE20........
Let's go!
What is the controller that she's using on the table?
Korg nano kontrol 2
When does this actually release?
Can’t see any indication anywhere of the release date.
pre-orders up to 17th august, that implies release on 18th to me
Thanks you.
Yes, found an article online that says it will be released 17th August.
I Have a Spitfire Addiction
It's time to take out the 20 euro coupon offered for a purchase of 99 euros a month ago. Me, it's done!🤩 At midnight, it will be too late! 😜😜😜
Some nice sounds, but many spoiled by what seems to be a built in wobble/detune effect. I do hope that can be turned off!
👍👍👍
cool
pls stop it spitfire you're gonna make me spend money again
Too late. 😄
Could do with a health warning - the intro is very loud - not good on headphones!
Seems too me that Spitfire are missing the oversight of a departed key-director of the company…🤔
Basically another Rompler with limited presets for the price.

it's (allegedly) samples of Trevor Horn's instrument collection
It's just a gimmick to use an artist name to sell a product.
There is nothing more boring that using patches made from someone else
@@PedroMiguel-if3llwhy are you even here then sound design guru? Go make some patches lol

I much prefer real musicians creating something in a studio to a load of soul less electronic effects stuck together
